OutKast announce tour of over 40 festivals

Last week the ghost of OutKast "returned like the ghost of Christmas past" with the announcement of headlining spots at Coachella and the Governor's Ball, and today the ghost became much more corporeal.

In addition to the aforementioned spots, Andre 3000 and Big Boi have announced their plans to play some 40 festivals to "to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their unique and influential sound." No dates have been published yet, but the tour will begin with the Coachella gig before continuing throughout the summer. In the release, 3 Stacks explains the group's reasoning for reuniting saying, "returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting OutKast."

So even though Coachella's already sold out, it looks like 'Kast fans throughout the country will still have the chance to see the Atlanta duo before the year is up. While you wait for more details, let the impossibly catchy "Ms. Jackson" help pass the time.

New Liars album on the way

Categorizing experimental three-piece Liars' work is a fool's errand at best and absolutely maddening at worst. Over the course of 6 records, the L.A. band constant defied expectations and shattered previous conceptions; refusing to ever stand still.

That proud tradition continues today with the appropriately titled Mess. In addition to revealing the album title, the band has released the record's first single entitled "Mess on a Mission". A herky-jerky slice of bleeting electronics and stymied vocals, its equal parts sequel to the band's 2012 effort WIXIW and outright rejection with chorale freakouts joining the fray. "Facts are facts and fiction's fiction," the band repeatedly intones throughout the rickety number. And few bands blur the lines better.

Mess is out March 24 through Mute Records.
