OutKast announce tour of over 40 festivals

Last week the ghost of OutKast "returned like the ghost of Christmas past" with the announcement of headlining spots at Coachella and the Governor's Ball, and today the ghost became much more corporeal.

In addition to the aforementioned spots, Andre 3000 and Big Boi have announced their plans to play some 40 festivals to "to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their unique and influential sound." No dates have been published yet, but the tour will begin with the Coachella gig before continuing throughout the summer. In the release, 3 Stacks explains the group's reasoning for reuniting saying, "returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting OutKast."

So even though Coachella's already sold out, it looks like 'Kast fans throughout the country will still have the chance to see the Atlanta duo before the year is up. While you wait for more details, let the impossibly catchy "Ms. Jackson" help pass the time.

New Liars album on the way

Categorizing experimental three-piece Liars' work is a fool's errand at best and absolutely maddening at worst. Over the course of 6 records, the L.A. band constant defied expectations and shattered previous conceptions; refusing to ever stand still.

That proud tradition continues today with the appropriately titled Mess. In addition to revealing the album title, the band has released the record's first single entitled "Mess on a Mission". A herky-jerky slice of bleeting electronics and stymied vocals, its equal parts sequel to the band's 2012 effort WIXIW and outright rejection with chorale freakouts joining the fray. "Facts are facts and fiction's fiction," the band repeatedly intones throughout the rickety number. And few bands blur the lines better.

Mess is out March 24 through Mute Records.

OutKast to potentially reunite for Coachella

OutKast reunion rumors have been lingering for awhile now, but today's news about a possible Coachella performance seems to have a bit more weight. Several sources have told Billboard that Andre 3000 and Big Boi will reunite for 2014's Coachella festival in April, before performing at "additional festival dates in 2014". However, sources are conflicted at this point with one assuring there have been "some conversations" about an OutKast reunion, while another contends "all systems go". Coachella organizer Goldenvoice has yet to comment on the "conversations" nor has anyone from the OutKast camp.

While you wait for OutKast to potentially return like the "ghost of Christmas past", enjoy the video for the classic "Ms. Jackson" posted below.

Kanye West releases "Bound 2" video

Kanye West appeared on Ellen today, where he talked about Kim Kardashian and baby North, while also debuting his new video for the soulful Charlie Wilson-feature "Bound 2". The video which cycles through l0w-budget stock footage and green-screens, sees West and
Kardashian riding across the U.S. landscape. Directed by Nick Knight, it's perfectly in keeping with the minimalist feel West brought to Yeezus, but still totally compelling. Check out the uncensored version below, which features a topless Kim Kardashian (if you've somehow never seen that before).

"Cut Away, Cut Away"

It's official, after an 11-year hiatus post-hardcore group At the Drive-In is back and ready to pick up where they left off. Though details are sparse at this point, the band will be playing two sets at Coachella. For everyone (me included) who thinks the Mars Volta has been a poor-substitute for the scorching-fretwork of ATDI, this is huge news. So let's throw out all those Frances the Mute records and lovingly-embrace Relationship of Command once more.
